HNL starts $61 million security upgrade

Honolulu International Airport broke ground Thursday on a $61 million Explosive Detection System upgrade. The airport is installing 16 EDS machines in its Overseas Terminal, in addition to a new baggage handling system and four explosive trace detection rooms. Officials say the project will be completed in 2013 as part of the airport's $3.2 billion modernization program.
