Interpreter plans Haiti school for students with hearing impairments

Interpreter Tara Thorn hopes to open a school for children who cannot hear in earthquake-stricken Port au Prince, Haiti. Thorn, who graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009, visited the country as a volunteer in June and decided to devote her efforts to replacing the area's two hearing-impaired schools, which were destroyed by the Jan. 12 earthquake.
