N.J. biofuel venture receives $98,000 federal grant

Woodbine, N.J., has been awarded a $98,000 federal grant to clean up a landfill site and study its suitability for an algae-based fuel facility. Garden State Ethanol is in discussions with borough officials to establish a biorefinery at the site, and it has set up a prototype plant to demonstrate the technology that they will be using to extract fuel from algae using wastewater.
