Are MOOCs the next big thing in K-12 education?

Massive open online courses have been gaining steam in higher education, and now, attention has turned to their use in K-12 settings, with some saying they could be used to support high-achieving high-school students. "My prediction is that MOOCs will become part of the menu that students can take to complete their education," said Tom Murray, director of technology and cybereducation at Quakertown Community School District in Bucks County, Pa.
