Brick-and-mortar retailers see mixed online results

Retailers are touting high growth rates for their online sales, but disclosure requests from the Securities and Exchange Commission reveal a wide range of online results. Nordstrom, Cabela's and Staples now realize a significant portion of their sales online, while many others including Target and Wal-Mart still make the lion's share of their sales in the stores. The retailers see online as a fast-growing sales channel, and many are taking an omnichannel approach to making the sale.
