Only multinational companies have the power to cut through political gridlock and save the planet from catastrophic climate change, argue Jerry Patchell and Roger Hayter. They advocate using international agreements and agencies to compel these companies, not bound by national boundaries, to commit to a global-level push against global warming. "Corporations can be held responsible for emissions anywhere along their supply chains, regardless of which countries host the more pollution-heavy aspects of their businesses," they write.
