City College of San Francisco appeals decision on accreditation

City College of San Francisco is requesting that the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges change its decision for the school to lose its accreditation in 2014. In addition, San Francisco has sued the commission in hopes of keeping the college open, city attorney Dennis Herrera said. The school, however, is keeping details of its request confidential and is not citing the fact that the U.S. Department of Education has upheld faculty members' complaints against the commission.
