CMS aims to ensure LTC patients have access to hospice care

New CMS regulations went into effect on Monday giving patients in long-term care facilities new options to ensure they can receive hospice services. Patients can get care through a Medicare-certified hospice or at the facility where they live. If they cannot arrange for services there, they can ask for a transfer to a facility that can arrange the services.
