Feds alert emergency workers about Android vulnerabilities

The U.S. government is notifying federal, state and local government workers, including police, fire, EMS and security personnel, about the security implications of owning an Android device, calling the Google platform a "primary target for malware attacks." The warning, issued jointly by the Department of Homeland Security and Justice Department, cited figures that show Android devices accounted for 79% of all mobile malware threats last year, compared with 19% on the second-most-vulnerable platform, Nokia's Symbian OS, and just 0.7% for Apple devices.
