Italian startup multiplies abilities of 3D printer

Two entrepreneurs are hoping to take 3D printing to the next level with a machine that combines that function with cutting, milling and engraving as well as 3D scanning. The Italian FABtotum startup is currently seeking crowdfunding to advance the project. "You may pick an object and fax it to a friend, he can print it straight out or make some changes in any free or professional modeling software. You may use the subtractive capabilities of FABtotum to carve foams, PCB milling or other activities that designers, engineers and makers in general can integrate in their design workflow or hobbies," said co-creator Marco Rizzuto.
