Overweight Missouri worker claims firing was violation of ADA

A Missouri worker has filed a lawsuit that says America's Car-Mart violated the Americans with Disabilities Act by firing him because he is severely obese. The lawsuit is apparently the first obesity-related case filed in federal court since the American Medical Association's finding that obesity qualifies as a disease, Tim Gould writes. "With the obesity rate in this country running at 30% or higher, there are going to be a lot of employees who'll have a new way to sue their company, if the AMA policy carries as much weight as many observers think it will," Gould writes.
