Signs of more setbacks emerge for HTC

There is new evidence out of Taiwan that smartphone-maker HTC's struggles might be worsening. A research institute reports that production has slowed in the country's smartphone factories due to lagging demand, the effects of a parts shortage and a lack of new models. HTC is Taiwan's major smartphone manufacturer. "This is mainly due to HTC sluggish sales especially in the high ends. Other vendors are not yet able to ramp up their smartphone portfolios," said C.K. Lu, Gartner analyst.
