Sources: Baidu may sign a deal for smart TVs

Baidu is negotiating with Huan Technology for development of a chip or a set-top box for Internet-connected televisions, Bloomberg reports, citing two sources. The prospective deal could keep the Chinese company competitive with Alibaba Group Holding, which last month revealed that it has come up with a smart-TV operating system and set-top box, writes Lulu Yilun Chen. Baidu declined to comment on the report.
