A startup known as Canva, which has brought in $3 million in investment, has created a graphic-design tool for professionals and everyday users. The tool is free, and the company hopes to make money by selling images to its users. The concept behind Canva has its roots in an earlier yearbook-publishing business. "[W]e always knew that the technology we developed was much more powerful than just the yearbook market," explained CEO Melanie Perkins.
