States are slow to implement Medicaid pay hike, group says

Data from the American Academy of Family Physicians showed primary care physicians in just six states are getting the higher payments for treating managed-care Medicaid patients called for by the Affordable Care Act as a way to increase access to care. The AAFP said CMS approved the pay increases in 33 states but state Medicaid programs still must negotiate the hikes with participating insurers.
