Students delve deeper into science with real-world connections

Technology is increasingly blurring the lines between the classroom and the real world -- particularly when it comes to lessons in science. Helping to promote deeper learning are the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access, which launched a three-part online conference about astrophotography, and Harvard University, which is working to promote education in science, technology, engineering and math while removing traditional barriers between the classroom, the online community and students' physical surroundings.
