U.S. soon won't be able to pay bills, Treasury says

The government will be unable to meet all financial obligations by mid-October unless Congress raises the debt limit, Treasury Secretary Jack Lew says in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio. The deadline falls two weeks after expiration of a continuing resolution.
