Calif. city eases its restrictive sign ordinance

Pushback from the business community spurred the city council in Gilroy, Calif., to reconsider parts of a strict sign ordinance that took effect in May. This month, council members reversed an outright ban on A-frame signs. "It's been exhausting, but it's been well worth it," said Barbara Rubio, a co-owner of a Fiesta Auto Insurance franchise who helped lead the effort to loosen the rules.
