DOD looks at 4 sites for $700M missile-defense project

Four sites are under consideration for a proposed $700 million interceptor missile project to deal with possible threats from Iran and North Korea. The Department of Defense is considering Fort Custer in Kalamazoo, Mich., as one option. The project would involve building underground concrete silos that would house the interceptors. About 400 construction jobs would be created if Congress approves the project.
