Clinicians who provide adolescent health care need to be aware of current issues and recommendations regarding the management of foreign body ingestions (FBI) among adolescents, including areas of ongoing controversy and risks associated with ingestion of new types of objects, such as high-powered magnets and super-absorbent materials.
