Bilingual experiment in Malaysian schools not working as planned

This year, students in Malaysia's Chinese primary schools are taking science and math classes in both English and Mandarin as part of an effort to maintain the importance of the Chinese language while strengthening the students' English skills. The extra instruction is forcing children to forego other classes, such as physical education.
