Consumer picks become marketing tool for e-tailers

Shopping tips from fellow consumers are a new online marketing vehicle from Bazaarvoice.com, an Austin, Texas-based company that handles customer input for e-commerce sites for Macy's, Home Depot, Sears and CompUSA. The Web company has inked deals with shopping portals including MSN, Google's Froogle, Pricerunner and Smarter.com to run snippets of product reviews, the full version of which can be viewed by clicking through to the e-tailer's sites.
