Grassley doesn't see gas-tax increase before 2010

Senate Finance Committee ranking minority member Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, does not expect Congress to take up a gas-tax increase until reauthorization of the highway bill in 2010. "Right now, I don't think the gasoline tax will be increased because we're in the middle of a five-year bill," he said. Grassley has previously said he would oppose a gas-tax increase until Congress rethinks how it funds highway and bridge repairs.
