Italy intervenes with Britain on behalf of lesbian

Italy is strongly lobbying the British government to allow an Iranian lesbian to remain in the country because she could be stoned to death if deported. An Italian government minister, as well as a member of the rightwing opposition, wants Italy to grant asylum to Pegah Emambakhsh, if Britain follows through on plans to deport her.
