Vermont university builds gender-neutral restrooms

The University of Vermont has become the latest of about 20 colleges and universities to designate certain public restrooms as "gender neutral" to provide a safer environment for transgender people, as well as to accommodate the disabled. "It's about inclusivity and accessibility and the importance of meeting all people's needs, not just a few," said Annie Stevens, assistant vice president for student and campus life.
