Electronics shoppers willing to branch out beyond traditional stores

A shaky economy and the lack of a new breakthrough product will limit growth in sales of consumer electronics products to 1% to 3% this holiday season and in 2009, according to the NPD Group. An industry group survey revealed that 25% of respondents would be willing to make a consumer electronics purchase at Starbucks, 30% at Ikea, 40% at Bed, Bath and Beyond and nearly 60% at Home Depot.
