Health system opens clinic in Tennessee elementary school

The principal's office at Maynardville Elementary School in Union County, Tenn., now hosts the Cherokee Health Systems School Based Clinic pilot project. The clinic -- run by a registered nurse and two part-time nurse practitioners -- serves students, teachers and school system employees. Insurance is accepted and the uninsured pay a $5 office visit fee.
