Claims for unemployment benefits decline in U.S.

Both the total number of people claiming unemployment benefits and the number of those making initial claims declined last week, the U.S. Labor Department said. First-time claims fell to 570,000 from the previous week's 580,000. Continuing claims eased down to 6.13 million from the previous week's 6.25 million.
