Virgin America reports more fliers, smaller loss

More passengers flew on Virgin America in the second quarter, narrowing the carrier's loss to $15.8 million from $64.4 million in the year-earlier period. Despite a $10 million decline in its cash position during the quarter, Virgin America said it maintains "full funding for its operation through its projected profitability date."
