A proposed $690 million four-lane bridge project being supported by Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is garnering criticism from those who oppose the project's high price tag. The bridge would be built in Bachmann's congressional district. "Why are we spending hundreds of millions more than we need to when we can get a much cheaper alternative that does the same thing?" said Steve Ellis, vice president of Taxpayers for Common Sense.
