Judge orders Castlewood CC to pay $3.4 million for illegal lockout

Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, Calif., may be required to pay $3.4 million in wages and benefits to workers who were locked out of the club for two years after a judge on the National Labor Review Board ruled that the lockout was illegal. "The options going forward are not pleasant," says country club member Larry Ferderber. "It's fair to say going forward we are in a real mess, whether you fight -- which costs more -- or don't fight. You are still liable for the cost."
