Administration extends contract deadline with health plans

HHS will wait until mid-September to settle final agreements with health insurance carriers offering plans on federally run Affordable Care Act exchanges. The agreements were previously scheduled to be finalized between Sept. 5 and Sept. 9; now the plan is to do so in the middle of the month. An HHS spokeswoman said the exchanges will still open Oct. 1.
