Black Elk to restart production at West Delta 32 oil platform

Officials at Black Elk Energy Offshore Operations said the company intends to resume production as early as next week at its West Delta 32 oil platform in the Gulf of Mexico, after a deadly explosion in November 2012. A report authorized by Black Elk points to the actions of subcontractors with insufficient training as the root of the accident. Bringing the platform back into production will be a boost for the company, said Black Elk Chief Technical Officer Art Garza.
