Cargill sees growing demand for sustainable chocolate

Emiel van Dijk, who leads the sales team of Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate, said demand is growing fast for sustainable chocolate. "This growth is met by the demand in mature markets and multinationals. Our expectation is that this crop year 10-15% of the beans is certifiable," Dijk said. In other trends, the Middle East is moving from cocoa powder to buying chocolate butter or actual chocolate.
