Isoniazid may help prevent tuberculosis in HIV-positive patients

HIV-positive patients who took isoniazid and completed treatment had 58% fewer cases of tuberculosis than a control group, according to a 12,816-person study in The Lancet Infectious Diseases. Researchers concluded that prophylactic therapy may help reduce mortality due to tuberculosis among people with HIV.
