McDonald's names Canadian executive to top post in Japan

McDonald's has named Canadian Sarah Casanova as its new Japan CEO, a sign that the chain's US corporate parent is exerting more influence at a time when the chain that was once the only fast-food game in town is increasingly fending off lower-priced competition. Casanova is a 22-year McDonald's veteran who most recently served as regional manager in Singapore and Malaysia.
