Md. dog deaths prompt canine influenza warning

Maryland's Department of Agriculture notified veterinarians that six dogs became ill with canine influenza in Montgomery County, and two of those animals died as a result of the infection. The virus can cause serious respiratory infection in dogs and is highly contagious, officials said.
