Medical device company confirms data breach at Minn. facility

Medtronic, a medical device manufacturer, announced a data breach involving 2,764 people in which a box containing training records disappeared at a Minnesota facility. The data, used for training on glucose monitoring devices and insulin pumps, included patient contact and medical information and may have included some Social Security numbers. The company will provide paid identity protection services to affected individuals.
