N.Y. district transitions to free breakfasts, lunches for all

A New York school district has adopted the Community Eligibility Option program under which all students will be eligible for free meals -- regardless of family income. Under the program, students will receive free breakfasts and lunches and may purchase a la carte items. Officials still are encouraging parents to sign up for the free-meal program, saying data is used to determine the district's Title I funding.
