Is a single reading program needed for all students?

Teachers and literacy specialists need to use a single, high-quality reading curriculum for all students, including English-language learners and students with disabilities, according to University of Tennessee education professor Richard Allington, who is a past president of the International Reading Association. In this interview with elementary-school principal Peter DeWitt, Allington argues that schools are using multiple curricula that are not useful across programs.
