Spending on heavy-engineering projects declined in June

Spending on heavy-engineering construction projects dropped 0.2% in June from the May level on a seasonally adjusted basis, according to Reed Construction Data. It also dropped 2.5% year-to-date from last year's level. However, spending on transportation, communication and power projects increased in the month. Overall, RCD forecasts a 4.0% decline this year, followed by a 6.7% increase in 2014.
