Study: Inflammation may be marker for cardiometabolic disease

Metabolically healthy but obese patients had lower levels of inflammatory markers, possibly providing insight into the fat-but-fit concept, according to a case-control study from the University College Cork in Ireland. Researcher Catherine Phillips said the data suggest the markers have potential as screening tools. The study was published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
