Nonprofit hospices face financial challenges, CEO says

Nonprofit hospices face challenges in offering competitive salaries for practitioners, affording new technology and keeping up with regulatory demands, said Melanie Ramey, CEO of The Hospice Organization and Palliative Experts of Wisconsin. More outreach and public awareness are needed to increase use of hospice services, Ramey said, and she expects demand to increase with the aging of the baby boomer generation.
