"Kutztown 13" hackers offered deal

Berks County, Pa., officials will drop charges of computer trespass and theft against 13 teenagers who breached their school's computer security system and violated download policies for their school-issued laptops, if the youths will do community service, apologize and take a class in personal responsibility. The Kutztown Area School District had reported the students to the police after detentions, suspensions and other approaches had failed to deter them from breaking school rules.
