New vaccine against cervical cancer not readily available

Supplies of Merck's new human papillomavirus vaccine Gardasil, which protects against cervical cancer, are said to be coming up short. Some doctors, while recommending the vaccine for young girls, have been reluctant to order adequate supplies because of the high cost and insurance coverage uncertainties.
