At some point in your career, you've probably had a colleague who persists in telling stories of crises that he or she personally solved, thus saving the company. Such people might feel the need to create excitement or earn attention for themselves, some psychologists say. The moral? When someone tells you disaster is around the corner, consider their credibility before you panic.
