Losing weight lowers risk of pre-eclampsia recurrence

Researchers found that the risk for a pre-eclampsia recurrence was lowest in women who shed at least 10 pounds between pregnancies. "If you are overweight and you lose weight, your rate (of pre-eclampsia recurrence) is as low as someone in the normal-weight category, and if you are overweight and gain weight, your rate is as high as someone in the obese category," the lead researcher said.
