Apple drops TV rentals on iTunes, steers users toward purchases

Apple announced it will no longer give users the option of renting television episodes over its iTunes platform, a move the company says is in line with the preferences of most consumers, who are more likely to buy television content. Apple began charging iTunes members 99 cents to rent TV shows last September after reportedly pressuring networks to comply with its low-cost pricing model.
