Central bankers say global economy remains fragile

Meeting in the US, central bankers from around the world discussed issues plaguing the global economy and concluded that the policy apparatus is not equipped to resolve the problems. Christine Lagarde, managing director of the International Monetary Fund, underscored the angst felt. "We risk seeing the fragile recovery derailed," Lagarde said. "We are in a dangerous new phase."
