France works on proposal for financial-transaction tax

France plans to push an international tax on financial transactions, said Finance Minister Francois Baroin. "We are working on a proposal that we will present to the European Union in September, which will be studied in the autumn," Baroin said. "We are determined to get results" at a Group of 20 meeting on 3 and 4 November in Cannes, France.
